I am a traveler and today I would like to explore one of the famous tourist destination in Tamilnadu. This place is suitable for all nature and adventure lover. Yes correct that place is Mudumalai Tiger reserve. Mudumalai is situated Ooty to Mysore road and distance from Ooty is around 45 kms, from Bangalore around 227 kms and from Coimbatore around 130 kms.

Location:

Mudumalai national Park is situated in Nilgiri district and have boundary with Kerala and Karnataka.  Mudumalai National Park is sharing boundary with two other national park like Bandipur National Park (Karnataka) and Muthanga National Park (Kerala). Mudumalai was declared as Tiger Reserve in the year of 2007. Mudumalai National Park is located in eastern hills of western ghats covering 321 sq.kms. Moyar River is the major river of Mudumalai forest.

 

  

 

Best Season:

Best season to see Mudumalai is throughout the year. But rainy season from July to September is very greenery. If summer season the forest will be dry and we can’t see leaves in the trees. But we can see lot of wild animals particularly wild Elephant and deer near by road. Wil animals will cross the road for go to river. If you want to see wild animals best tie is summer season.

What Special in Mudumalai:

1. Jungle Safari: Van Safari is very popular activity to see the wild animals in inside the forest. In the safari, you can see Deer, Python, etc.. If your luck, you can see wild elephant, tiger, leopard, panthers, etc.. 

Timings: Morning 6 am to Evening 6 pm from Sunday to Saturday.

2. Jeep Safari: You can also hire jeep for the jungle trail. But it will be bit expensive. 

3. Elephant Safari: Elephant ride will be given different experience to go inside jungle. But can’t go long way inside the forest. If you want long ride van or jeep safari will be better.

4. Elephant Camp: This is rejuvenation and recreation point for the elephant. You can see bathing and feeding of the elephant.

Nearest Tourist Places of Mudumalai: 

1. Needle rock View Point: It is situated in Gudalur 15 kms distance.

2. Pykara Lake: Pykara Lake is very famous tourist place for boating in Ooty and it is situated 34 kms from Mudumalai.

3. Pine tree Forest

Fee Details:

Entry fee – Rs.30 per person

Bus Safari: Rs.340 per person

Jeep Safari – Rs.4200 per trip

Elephant Safari – Rs.1120 per ride
