The opening ceremony of the IPL was held yesterday (Friday) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat at 7:30 pm. The opening match was played between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Gujarat Titans, who won the toss, chose to bat first, and their captain, Hardik Pandya, made the decision to field.
Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the opening match of the IPL cricket series which started yesterday. Chennai’s team, after playing 20 overs, scored 178 runs, losing 7 wickets.
In this match, it was announced that the captain of the Gujarat Titans team, Hrithik Pandya, won the toss and decided to bat first. As a result, the Chennai Super Kings team, led by M.S. Dhoni, started their batting innings. Opening batsmen Devone Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad began the batting with great enthusiasm.
