Largest Botanical Garden in the World

How big is the world’s largest botanical garden? It’s really, really big — so big that it won’t fit on this page!

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest botanical garden in the world belongs to The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London.

These gardens cover some 250 acres (100 hectares) and include more than 30,000 different species of plants.

Read on to learn more about this fascinating place!

The History of the Park

Like many of its peers, Central Park’s origins can be traced back to a real-estate scheme from 1853 called The Greensward Plan.

Englishman Frederick Law Olmsted (creator of Central Park and Prospect Park) was hired by New York City to help design parks that would be closer to nature than anything else created up until that point.

At 742 acres, NYC’s largest park is 10 times larger than London’s Hyde Park. When it was finished in 1873, it also became one of America’s largest urban parks.

Things to Know Before You Go

If you plan to visit a botanical garden, there are some things you should know before you go.

First of all, be sure to plan your trip carefully. Not every city has a botanical garden; those that do may have seasonal hours or even close for certain holidays or months.

If it’s possible to choose your time wisely, try visiting during springtime when most flowers are in bloom and trees are thick with foliage. Plan ahead and learn if any special exhibits will be on display so you can make sure to see them.

Lastly, consider buying an annual membership if one is available; some membership fees will cover entrance for a year and provide other benefits like discounts on events and merchandise or reduced-cost programs such as workshops or lectures at local community centers.

Visiting Tips

The Missouri Botanical Garden is a great place to visit any time of year. Located just north of downtown St. Louis, it’s a wonderful attraction that attracts millions of visitors each year.

The largest botanical garden in the world, there are over 50 acres of plants and flowers that can be viewed at your leisure.

There are self-guided tours throughout and free admission as well as two major festivals – one taking place in April, and another each fall that celebrate pumpkins!

While you’re at it, spend some time in nearby Forest Park – another great place to relax and enjoy yourself!

The Very Best Time to Visit

To properly experience any garden, you’ll want to visit it at its peak. In New York City, that means springtime. With its mild weather and pleasant temperatures, New York’s spring is a great time to visit The Bronx Botanical Gardens. The flowers are starting to come out, but there aren’t too many bugs yet—perfect for enjoying nature without getting bitten!

What to Wear at Orchids 2017

When heading to Orchids 2017 orchid show, or any other event of its kind, it’s always a good idea to dress like you’re going out on a date.

Although you may feel awkward sporting a sequined blazer with your favorite jeans at first, having an outfit that’s comfortable and chic is essential for having a good time.

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box: While red lipstick and slinky heels are optional, donning something that shows off your personal style will make you more comfortable and confident.

Feeling good (and looking good) at every event is as simple as taking care in your appearance.

Where to Stay

Hotel Boutique Art Studio Estilo offers chic rooms and suites situated on a tree-lined avenue at one end of Botanic Garden.

Boutique Hotel Art Studio Estilo is just two blocks from Avenida Paulista, a vibrant shopping district with international boutiques and luxury hotels.

There are several notable museums, theaters, concert halls and parks within walking distance of Baha Hotel.

The hotel also offers complimentary high-speed Internet access throughout its modern facility.

Each guest room features comfortable furnishings and rich colors to match Paulista Avenue’s aesthetic; some rooms have balconies overlooking large trees.

Three rooms feature artist studios that overlook tropical gardens or neighboring museums, offering a relaxing retreat after an afternoon walk through Jardim da Luz.

Getting There and Getting Around

To get to Mount Rainier National Park from Seattle, you can take Interstate 5 south until it meets Highway 410.

From there, continue east on Highway 410 toward Ashford and make a left onto Chinook Pass Road.

Follow that road north until it ends at a parking lot, where you’ll want to start exploring.

There are more than 11 miles of hiking trails as well as several picnic areas, which makes for a relaxing visit any time of year (but be aware that some roads are closed during winter).

If you need help getting around or staying safe while you explore, ranger-led walks and tours are available in summer months.
