There are many historical buildings in India. The Taj Mahal is an important historical site.  

Built on the banks of the Taj Yamuna. It really is a feast for our eves. It is so beautiful on a moonlit night. Its beauty attracts thousands of tourists, including foreigners.

Emperor Jahangir described Kashmir as ‘heaven on earth’. With its tall trees, towering mountains and colorful rivers, the Kashmir Valley truly looks like a paradise. Thousands of tourists from all over the world visit this valley. In the summer they go there to escape the oppressive heat of the plains. In winter, they come here to enjoy the snow and to take part in winter sports.

10. Kumhalgarh Fort

Kumbhalgarh Fort is a large fort in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan, India. It was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century and enlarged by his son, Rana Sanga. The fort is a World Heritage Site and has been described as “one of the finest examples of Indian medieval vernacular architecture”.

The fort is situated on a hilltop, with an average elevation of 1,200 feet (370 m) above sea level. The fort has been under siege twice in its history: first by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1567 CE and then by Maratha king Mahadaji Scindia in 1768 CE.

7. Meenakshi Temple

The temple was built by Pandyan King Kulasekara Pandyan I (1216–1238 CE) and his son Rajendra I (1246–1279 CE).

4. Qutub Minar

The Qutub Minar is a 73-meter-high tower made of red and buff sandstone. The tower was built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, who was the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. The tower has five storeys, and each storey has a projecting balcony carried on delicate corbelled brackets.

The Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque is situated next to the Qutub Minar. It was built by Aibak in 1193 and it stands on a raised platform reached by two flights of steps. The mosque has three domes, two minarets, and an open courtyard with a small tank for ablutions at one end.

Built of red sandstone, these tombs were typical of the smaller Mughal tombs of the time. Tall arches are built in front of the inner courtyard facing the garden. It is in the architectural style of Hindu temples. This style was later incorporated into the construction of Mughal mosques. The castle is built differently from the domed umbrellas that are now used as a museum and smaller buildings such as the music lounge or viewing towers.

 

The main gate (Darwaza) is a monument built of marble. The monument was built to commemorate the architecture of the early Mughal emperors. This archway resembles the structure of the tomb. And its pistachio arches are adorned with beautiful writings on the tomb. It features metal bumps and carvings by Pietra Dura, with floral artwork. The arched-shaped ceilings and walls have intricate geometric designs, as seen in other sandstone buildings of the ccomplex.
